Diamond Mine Recording Inc is a private music recording studio where internationally beloved artists, producers, and songwriters have come to incorporate live performance and retro analog sounds into their contemporary digital productions. Since 2014 – amongst those who know – it has become legendary for writing, basic tracking, overdubs, and video shoots thanks to its vibe, privacy, room acoustics, formidable collection of vintage instruments and equipment, and of course the sought-after practitioners who call it home.

Diamond Mine is a single-studio facility, featuring a spacious, day-lit live room with iso-closet, a control room that can comfortably host the whole team, a multi-purpose lounge area, two storage closets, a private restroom, and access to a massive rooftop with inspirational views of the New York City skyline. The core studio space occupies a 1400 sq ft suite within a nondescript industrial building that used to be the Fairchild Recording Equipment factory. A freight elevator along with wide hallways and doors make for easy load-in / load-out. Workers tending to neighboring businesses will mind their business and won’t recognize you.

Being a private studio, Diamond Mine does not have any interns or staff. And being a single studio there aren’t any other clients to run into either. Your session will just be you, your team, and someone from our team hosting or engineering. You may also enjoy the surrounding neighborhood of Hunter’s Point (Long Island City), which despite being only 10 min from trendy North Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Greenpoint, et al) or bustling Midtown Manhattan, and despite having bougie bars, restaurants, hotels, breweries, and entertainment within walking distance, is still a relatively chill and uncrowded place.
Although Diamond Mine was initially constructed as a low-key place for its partners to continue their own writing and recording projects, it has evolved into a shared hub for friends and associates, and now welcomes outside bookings of all kinds (at the discretion of management).
